A seasonal bushcamp in a remote area of the South Luangwa National Park, Chindeni is owned by the Bushcamp Company. Located at the edge of a permanent lagoon known for attracting wildlife, this luxury tented camp was completely rebuilt in 2010 with the Chindeni Hills providing a dramatic backdrop.
Accommodation & Facilities
Each of the four large tents is set on a platform and has vaulted canvas ceilings, wooden floors, four poster beds, a sitting area and en-suite bathrooms. The light colors and neutral décor are soothing and blend well with the surroundings. Offering great privacy, each tent has its own private deck raised over the lagoon, providing a perfect spot for watching the birds and animals that come to drink here. The central lounge and dining area, which also offers fantastic views, is set on several levels and surrounded by magnificent ebony trees. This is a great place to relax between activities, taking in the wildlife. Dinner is sometimes served on the beach area in front of the lounge where guests can dine by campfire light.
Wildlife & Activities
At Chindeni, game viewing can be done on day and night game drives and scenic sundowner trips in the surrounding area of the game rich South Luangwa National Park. This is also an ideal place to try a walking safari, accompanied by one of the camp’s superb guides and a scout. There are a variety of different habitats near the camp that are home to impressive game drawn by the permanent waterholes and the river.
