Kwandwe Private Game Reserve has 54,000 acres and four separate lodges. It lies in the heart of South Africa's malaria-free Eastern Cape near Grahamstown. It's a safari destination in its own right or could be the natural conclusion to a journey along the world-famous Garden Route.

Accommodation & Facilities
Set along the steep banks of the Great Fish River in the scenic Eastern Cape, Kwandwe's Great Fish River Lodge affords spectacular views of the wild yet gentle African landscape. It has nine thatched suites, each with en-suite facilities and large verandahs on which to relax. There is a main dining and lounge area and a plunge pool in which to cool off.

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is styled in a contemporary manner, with rooms constructed of the steel and stone gabions more commonly found supporting motorway bridges. Its six suites have generous sitting areas which can double as children's accommodation for families. There is a dining and lounge area close to the lap pool.

Kwandwe Melton Manor is arranged around a central courtyard with four large bedrooms off this. Melton Manor can be taken on an exclusive basis with up to eight people, or rooms can be booked individually.

Kwandwe's Uplands Homestead is a private house which is taken on an exclusive basis and is ideal for families or groups travelling together. The property comes with its own safari vehicle and guide. Uplands Homestead accommodates up to six people in three bedrooms and there is a swimming pool in the garden.

Wildlife & Activities
Kwandwe is home to some intriguing habitats and good game, including lion, black and white rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah. Predators are often sighted and unusually (in the African winter months) aardvark.  During a stay here guests can enjoy day and night game drives, guided bush walks, picnics, bush sundowners and fishing on the river or simply choose to do nothing and absorb this vast, private wilderness.
