Desert Homestead lies southeast of Sesriem and the Sossuvlei Dunes, in a wide grassy valley sheltered by the Nubib, Tsaris and Naukluft mountains with a view reaching the distant dunes of the Namib Desert in the west. The endless sandy plains provide very gentle and easy going riding.

There are 20 horses suit rides of all abilities, calm horses for novices and more lively for the more experienced. These horses are either warmblood cross breeds or homebred local horses and vary in size between 14.2hh and 16.2 hh. The speed of the rides is determined by the slowest rider and you should expect to spend between eight and nine exciting hours in the saddle on the longer rides.

Accommodation & Facilities
The 20 rustic, en-suite chalets, are built from local rock and blend in with the environment. They are lavishly decorated and each has its own verandah with northern views extending towards the Rotterlaum Mountains. The main lodge is located away from the rooms and there is a lovely swimming pool here.
