Peponi Hotel
Lamu is an historic and exotic Arabic Island, in the Indian Ocean off the coast of northern Kenya. Peponi Hotel, both luxurious and romantic, is located in Shela Village 20 minutes by dhow from Lamu Town. Lamu can be reached by flights from Malindi and Nairobi.
Accommodation & Facilities
Each of the hotel’s 24 rooms enjoys a sea view, and has an en-suite bathroom. The hotel is renowned for its delicious food, and meals include excellent locally caught seafood. Each of the rooms is different, due to position and decoration. The hotel has delightful gardens, a good size swimming pool and many spots where guests can sit and relax, and watch the world go by. The general atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed, with your hosts Lars and Carol attending to your every need.
Wildlife & Activities
Just five minutes walk from the hotel is an eight mile beach stretching into the distance. To the south west of the hotel lies a great sand dune, where bones of those killed in a battle 175 years ago are still found. Many activities are available nearby including water skiing, deep-sea fishing, excursions by motorboat and snorkelling.
