Tubu Tree Camp

Tubu Tree Camp is situated on Hunda Island in the western part of the 60,000 hectare Jao Concession, which borders the Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.

Accommodation & Facilities

The camp is a traditional style tented safari camp built on raised wooden platforms to take best advantage of the beautiful view over the floodplains. The camp accommodates guests in eight large comfortable tents, each with a small private deck in front. All the tents have en-suite bathroom facilities and private outdoor shower. The main dining and lounge areas are also large tents on raised platforms, with an outdoor bar built under the canopy of a large marula tree. The camp also has a pool, and an outside eating area.

Wildlife & Activities

Activities at Tubu Tree Camp include day and night drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles, and walking safaris which must be pre-booked. When the Okavango’s annual flood is at its highest (normally May to late September), boating, fishing and mokoro trips are also offered, subject to water levels being sufficient. A variety of habitats ensures diverse and interesting wildlife viewing, and the species seen here include elephant, lion, zebra, red lechwe, giraffe, tsessebe, wildebeest as well as kudu, impala, leopard and bushbuck. For more adventurous guests there is the chance to have a sleep out in the hide. Up to four people can share this exciting night in the bush.
