Birding Safaris

Africa’s colourful birdlife is a constant feature of the bush, and spotting the individual species always adds a fascinating extra layer to any safari experience. We make every effort to make sure that the guides we use are knowledgeable about the species seen in their area, able to help you spot rare species and explain their subtle differences in habits and lifestyles. For keen birders we will specifically request especially skilled birding guides.
Almost all African countries have plenty of bird species to boast about, but for the sheer number of species it’s hard to beat Uganda and Rwanda, with their combination of habitats ranging from snow-capped peaks to lakes the size of Ireland, swelled by annual migrants that fly in from as far away as Siberia and Norway. Head south and the species change, with a whole new range of species and habitats to discover.
We do cater for a lot of keen birders. They are however often travelling with a non birding spouse or children so we will make sure any trip planned will be done so with everybody’s needs catered for.
